In this webinar we explored how pollution burdens disproportionately impact frontline communities and the innovative state-level policy solutions that are making a way forward. This event delved into the structural limitations of federal laws, like the Clean Air Act, to protect communities from harmful pollution emissions. We explored how advocates are shifting their focus to state-level permitting laws that must account for cumulative impacts and total pollution burden of affected communities. Learn from the experiences of advocates in New York and New Jersey whose advocacy is creating more equitable environmental protections and how lessons learned may apply to your context. We also discussed how these models can drive impactful change for the future of the environmental justice movement.
