EPA’s $27 billion Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) will provide competitive grants to finance clean energy and climate projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As the “single largest investment in clean energy, environmental justice, and carbon pollution reduction in American history,” what are the impacts and opportunities for community-based organizations? The GGRF Best Practices Alliance presented a webinar for a primer on green financing, what to know about EPA’s GGRF, and how organizations and nonprofits can participate and prepare for the $27 billion in funds for environmental justice communities. Alliance members on the GGRF shared how it may benefit projects your organization is pursuing. They discussed green financing as a tool to leverage project funding and ways to potentially engage in funding opportunities. Lastly, they shared thoughts on what community-based organizations can do now to get ready.
