Rahwa Ghirmatzion is a Senior Fellow at Just Solutions, focused on place-based resilience and power building. She leads the Buffalo Neighborhood Hubs Project, a scalable, decentralized initiative equipping residents with the skills and resources to navigate acute and everyday emergencies in a time of overlapping crises. A seasoned leader in equitable community development, Rahwa has spent her career advancing climate justice, power building, public health, and policy. As former Executive Director of PUSH Buffalo, she led comprehensive place-based revitalization on Buffalo’s West Side, spanning green affordable housing, solar installation, climate policy, and green jobs training. She is a founding member of the NY Renews Steering Committee, serves on the Governance Assembly of Mosaic, and previously helped define the criteria for Disadvantaged Communities as a member of the New York State Climate Justice Working Group.
