Just Solutions will be leading a session at the 2025 EGA Federal Policy Briefing titled: Defending & Advancing Climate Justice: Delivering on the Promise of Federal Investments and Commitments

Session Description: We find ourselves in a historic moment. Following on the heels of unprecedented federal commitments to address climate change and environmental injustice, the new Presidential Administration and Congress threaten to unravel recent investments as well as landmark environmental laws and democratic norms. These threats put at risk our ability to protect our most fundamental needs and vulnerable communities. Anticipating this moment, in early 2024, a national table of policy organizations began convening that brought together policy experts in climate justice and intersectional issues including racial justice, housing, immigration, public health, and resilience. Over several months, the organizations created a comprehensive document outlining shared priorities and strategies to advance just solutions. This panel will present their findings and share insights on which federal policies and programs will likely stand, which are at risk, and what role states and cities can play in advancing climate solutions through the coming months and years.
