The Perfect Storm of Extraction, Poverty, and Climate Change Webinar Series: Community-Created Solutions to Climate Vulnerability and Resilience

October 5, 1 pm

Join us for the upcoming Community-Created Solutions to Climate Vulnerability and Resilience webinar. In our third and final webinar from The Perfect Storm of Extraction, Poverty, and Climate Change Webinar Series, we will host a panel discussion with community leaders interviewed in The Perfect Storm of Extraction, Poverty, and Climate Change. The voices of community members and representatives were highlighted through the report, as we explored the “pre-existing” economic, health, and infrastructure conditions across six Frontline communities. Panelists from the East End of Bridgeport Connecticut, East Las Vegas, and Blackfeet Nation will share their perspectives on local conditions residents face in their communities and discuss their community-created solutions to climate vulnerability. The panel discussion will highlight community-led projects and programs addressing 1) economic development, 2) climate adaptation/environmental restoration, and 3) urban planning and renewal.

Join us as we discuss the real-world conditions and community-led solutions that will increase adaptive capacity and resilience to cope with, plan for, and respond to climate change in ways that are empowering and restorative.
